Friends:
Hope all is going well for everyone.
Les Sherwood and several of the older guys from the neighborhood have established a tradition where they meet for a Luncheon 2 times a year on the 2nd Thursday in May and October. Over the last several years it's been held at the Fiddler's Elbow on Tremont Avenue in Throgg's Neck.
Some of the regular attendees have been Les, Steve Coffey, Ed Keller, Jim Purcell, Fred Kopetz, Bob McKeon, Red Griffin, Jack Kelly, Larry Mullaly & Charlie Malone. Other attendees have been Fred Diehl, Mike Moriarty and Bobby Coffey.
Les has been trying to increase participation and continue the tradition of the Archer Boys Luncheon. With the inevitable attrition of the older guys for a variety of reasons, participation has been declining. As a result, he has asked that I try to reach out to all of the other age groups to attend this enjoyable event. As you already know, it's always great to see old friends both old & young from the neighborhood.
Last year, Harry Kelly, Jimmy & Bobby Carolan and myself attended the October Luncheon and I am now looking for you all to help expand attendance.
This years fall event is again at Fiddler's Elbow on October 14th @ 12:00 Noon and I am attaching a Flyer for you to copy and give to some other friends who weren't copied on this email.
Please send it around to all of the neighborhood guys and try to get your group together and make this as a regular event of your calendar every year. Even if it's too late to make any changes to your schedule for this year, plan to make the May event.
If you have any questions or email addresses of others not copied please send to Les & myself.
Thank you,
Don Diehl
